Native Seafood is proud to collaborate with Ocracoke Island Realty and Blue Heron Realty to offer fresh local produce bags from Mr. Thomas Midgette of Englehard Noth Carolina and beautiful natural bouquets from Hyde County Flower Company. Order and pay online and pick up after you arrive for your vacation at Native Seafood. The Realties offer a link on their websites. It is so easy, and you are providing an important market for Hyde County Farmers and Fishermen.
We also offer pre-ordering for shrimp and local farm raised oysters.
Vacationers Ocracoke
We are so happy to welcome vacationers to Ocracoke. While Ocracoke is primarily a vacation destination, the mainland of Hyde County is full of farms and waterways. Vacationer supported agriculture is a great way to bring some of the benefits of tourism to the farmers on the mainland by offering them a market for their products on Ocracoke.
VSA Process
To order a bag of fresh Hyde County produce or flowers, shrimp, or oysters follow the link provided by Ocracoke Island Realty ( Village Realty) or Blue Heron Realty. It is native-seafood.com/vsa . That link will take you to the order form. You may order for delivery from the Sunday before Memorial Day, ( 5/28/2023) to the Sunday before Labor Day (9/3/2023). Orders will need to be placed by the preceding Tuesday at 4:00 for delivery the following Sunday. We will contact Mr. Midgette of Englehard NC and he will put together the freshest seasonal produce from his farm and that of his neighbors. He brings the produce to the ferry from Swan Quarter on Sunday and we pick it up. The produce and seafood are in coolers on the porch of Native Seafood and vacationers can pick them up Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00.
